FREE Online Classes!

LEGOengineering.com will be hosting two FREE online classes in the coming weeks! Both classes are an hour in length and focus on LEGO robotics. Below is a brief description of each class including the date, time and instructor's name. To learn more or to register for one or both of these classes, visit http://legoengineering.com/component/option.com_classreg/Itemid.138

Driving Straight: Containers, Math and Proportional Control in ROBOLAB will be held on Wednesday, February 27 at 1:30pm EST. The class will be lead by Dr. Chris Rogers and teach participants how to use ROBOLAB 2.9.4 to write their own proportional control algorithm to make a basic NXT car drive straight. Participants will use containers and related mathematics functions within ROBOLAB to accomplish the task. Class Requirements: ROBOLAB 2.9.4 software and 2-motor NXT Car.

Programming a NXT-A-SKETCH will be held on Tuesday, March 11 at 6:30pm EST. The class will be lead by Adam Carberry and will teach participants how to use NXT-G software to turn your NXT into an Etch-a-Sketch, capable of drawing on the screen in both x- and y-directions. Various blocks including loops, switches, wait for rotation, math, and display will be used and discussed. Class Requirements: NXT set, knowledge of Platform 9 3/4 and Line Follower in NXT-G (programming of "wait for" and "loops")

Migrating From RCX To NXT

Transitioning from RCX with ROBOLAB to NXT with NXT-G just got easier! Thanks to the editorial efforts of Eric Wang, Department of Mechanical Engineering with the University of Nevada (Reno), a guide on how to migrate from the RCX programming style to the NXT-G format is now available!

LEGO NXT For ROBOLAB Users is a fabulous resource for teachers, students and robotic enthusiasts. Featuring program examples in both ROBOLAB and NXT-G, this 144-page book helps readers transfer their knowledge of the RCX program to NXT-G. Related exercises compliment the process and progress in difficulty as each exercise is completed.

To add this resource to your robotics library or to search for additional publications, log onto www.LEGOeducation.com/store. LEGO NXT For ROBOLAB Users retails for $28.
